It all started with “blue dress girl.” That’s how Nate and his friends fondly referred to Jen after the first night they met in 2009. Jen definitely caught Nate’s eye, but it took him awhile to summon up the courage to ask her out. Jen started noticing that Nate made a point to attend all social gatherings that their mutual friends arranged. She also noticed that one of Nate’s friends always made sure the seat next to Jen was reserved for Nate. I don’t think Nate and his friends were quite as sly as they thought they were…but seven years later, he’s still by her side.
Jen and Nate were married at beautiful Bluemont Vineyard during a hurricane weekend. They’ve already weathered many storms during their seven years together, and a little rain wasn’t going to slow them down. Their day was filled with so much love and many meaningful details, including the hand-painted invitations featuring views of Bluemont and the mixed berry jam that was handmade by Jen – both drizzled on the cake and handed out as favors. Jen’s favorite detail was the steam engine tie pin on her bouquet wrap that belonged to her late father – such a beautiful way to honor him and keep him with her throughout the entire day.
I wish Jen and Nate all the best as they celebrate their new marriage in style (island hopping through Greece)!
