“It was January 2016 and DC was a winter wonderland. Snowmageddon had just hit the city and DC was covered in feet of snow. Becky and Tom, not wanting to stay cold that winter, took to Bumble, a dating app, and swiped on each other, noting that they had an unusually high number of mutual friends. So high in fact, it was shocking that they hadn’t met in person. Becky and Tom had mutual friends from every stage of life, from childhood through adulthood, college, work, etc. It was as if they were ships in the night, passing by each other unnoticed for years, who just needed a little nudge to point them in the right direction.”

I love hearing the story behind how a couple first met, and Tom’s words (above) were particularly eloquent. In contrast to their snowy beginning, Becky and Tom couldn’t have picked a more perfect, sunny, unseasonably mild July day to start their marriage. I’ll never forget that look of anticipation on Tom’s face as he heard Becky approaching him down the LONG colonnade for their first look together. They spent so much of their wedding day laughing, and I have no doubt that most of their days together are no different.

There were so many highlights from Becky & Tom’s wedding, including simultaneously heartfelt and hilarious handwritten vows, sibling toasts that had the whole room in tears, a hidden cat (or two?) on the silhouetted cake topper, and the most gorgeous bridal bouquet (Rocking Bird never disappoints).
