Sometimes, when photographing a wedding, there is one moment that stands out from all the rest. During Tommie and Matt’s Middleburg wedding day, that moment was one that I’ll never forget. Tommie and Matt, two of the most genuine souls you could ever meet, opted for a wedding day schedule that involved a “first look,” as we call it in the business. They decided they would see each other before their ceremony for a private moment alone. I photograph a lot of “first looks”, but this one was so special. Tommie and Matt had a religious ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Church, during which they would be reciting traditional vows. So, during their first look, with no one else around, the couple read their own personalized vows to each other. My assistant and I backed off, took out our long lenses, and let Tommie and Matt keep that moment for themselves. We couldn’t hear the words, but we could definitely feel the love. Here are a few other moments I loved from their big day.

Reception [Backyard of the Bride’s Parents’ Home]
Florist [Bluebells]
