Renée & Jon met while working together for a minor league baseball team, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. They became fast friends, but after only 6 months, Renée decided to move back home to Philadelphia to take an internship with the Phillies. They spent 2.5 years apart, living completely separate lives, until they reconnected over talks of career plans. Casual talks became more frequent, and then a fateful New Year’s Eve text, followed by surprise Valentine’s Day flowers led to the start of their long distance romance.

The couple now resides in Blacksburg, VA where Jon is the Voice of the Hokies! Knowing their amazing story, it was no surprise that Renée & Jon incorporated sports into their wedding day. Before the wedding, they had a bet with each other that they would be announced into their wedding reception to the fight song of the winner of the Vikings (his team) vs. Eagles (her team) match-up. The Super Bowl Champion E-A-G-L-E-S did NOT disappoint (…sorry, Jon), and not only did they enter their reception to the fight song, they were announced in by the actual Voice of the Eagles! SO COOL!
