You know the old saying, “Rain on your wedding day is good luck!” Well, Angela & James might just be the luckiest. The rain didn’t pause for even one minute of their late summer wedding in beautiful Havre De Grace, Maryland. But a little (or a lot of) rain wasn’t going to dampen their spirits. In Angela’s own words, “We met under a tent in the rain, and that’s how we’ll get married.”

Angela’s words completely embodied all of the sentimental touches that surrounded this wedding day. Let’s start with the bride’s Mom, who MADE HER WEDDING DRESS! (That was a first for me, and she did an incredible job!) Add in her “something blue,” which was a button sewn on the underside of her dress, saved from the very first dress that Angela’s Mom ever made for her – which just happened to be a flower girl dress. Fast forward to a tear-filled reaction from James as he saw his future wife approaching him for the first time on their wedding day and the time capsule trunk that the couple filled with letters to each other during the ceremony. It was overwhelmingly clear that “family” was the keyword at the center of this wedding, and I was so fortunate to witness all of the unique traditions that Angela and James created for their new family.
